Effective August 6, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Infoenon collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use Infoenon search, public profiles, Organization Studio, claims, moderation, integrations, and related services.
Scope and important AT Protocol distinction
You do not create an Infoenon account. When you sign in, you authorize Infoenon to use an existing AT Protocol identity. Your identity, handle, DID, public repository records, and Personal Data maintained by your personal data server (“PDS”) remain subject to the policies of that PDS and other AT Protocol services. Infoenon controls only the Personal Data it processes for Infoenon services.
This Policy does not govern third-party websites, PDS providers, protocol applications, search-result destinations, or integrations. Review their policies before using them.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Profile fields, modules, pages, links, products, locations, promotions, polls, and other material submitted through Organization Studio.
- Entity claims, domain evidence, organization-authority evidence, appeals, reports, Community Notes when available, and communications with us.
- Team assignments, publisher roles, settings, and other actions performed through a managed profile.
AT Protocol identity and public-network information
When you sign in or appear in search, we may process your handle, DID, display name, avatar, profile description, PDS endpoint, public repository records, public posts, follower or activity signals, domain-handle relationships, and bidirectional handle/DID verification results. AT Protocol information designated as public may be accessed, copied, indexed, or retained by many independent services beyond Infoenon’s control.
Search and reference information
We process search queries, selected filters, result interactions, and information from attributed public sources including Wikipedia, Wikimedia, Wikidata, official websites, news feeds, Semble, Standard.site-compatible publications, Offprint, and other enabled sources. Reference profiles may contain names, roles, images, descriptions, products, relationships, and official domains relating to people or organizations that have not used Infoenon.
Technical and usage information
Our systems and service providers may automatically process IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, operating system, language, timestamps, referring pages, requested URLs, session identifiers, cookie or local-storage settings, crash information, performance measurements, security events, and interactions needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
- Operate search, profiles, social discovery, publisher tools, integrations, settings, and support.
- Authenticate sessions through AT Protocol OAuth without asking for or storing your PDS password.
- Resolve identities and verify handles, DIDs, domains, claims, roles, and source relationships.
- Index, classify, rank, group, summarize, and display public and publisher-controlled information.
- Detect impersonation, fraud, spam, malicious automation, security incidents, policy violations, and technical failures.
- Review claims, reports, appeals, corrections, and moderation decisions and maintain an audit trail.
- Measure reliability, relevance, performance, accessibility, and feature use; debug and improve the service.
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines, and protect users, Infoenon, and the public.
Legal bases where required
Depending on applicable law, we process Personal Data to perform our agreement with you, with your consent, to comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as providing useful search, authenticating authority, protecting platform integrity, preventing abuse, and improving the service. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
How information is disclosed
- Publicly. Published profiles, modules, claims status, protocol identities, public posts, and public-source information may be displayed to anyone.
- Service providers. Hosting, storage, security, analytics, support, and infrastructure providers may process information only to perform services for us.
- Integrations and protocols. Requests and identifiers may be transmitted to enabled external sources when needed to retrieve results or verify identity.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse, protect rights or safety, or preserve evidence.
- Business changes. Information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, insolvency, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
Infoenon does not sell Personal Data or share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. Infoenon does not use your search history to target advertisements.
Cookies, local storage, and sessions
We use session cookies or equivalent storage to keep you signed in, prevent request forgery, preserve security state, and operate requested features. Device-local storage may remember appearance, integration, motion, background, and result-density preferences. You can clear stored preferences in Settings or through your browser. Blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in or management features from working.
Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. Session records generally last only as long as required for authentication. Search and diagnostic records may be retained for shorter operational and security periods. Published profile content remains until changed, unpublished, or removed. Claims, moderation, security, and audit records may be retained longer to prevent repeated abuse, document authority, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of eligible Personal Data, and to appeal a refusal. You may sign out, revoke Infoenon’s AT Protocol authorization through your PDS, change local preferences, update publisher-controlled information, challenge an incorrect entity association, or request removal where applicable. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Removing information from Infoenon does not remove copies held by an AT Protocol PDS, Wikipedia, a publisher, search-result destination, or another independent service. Contact those services directly for their records.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No electronic service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur. Protect your AT Protocol identity and promptly report suspected unauthorized profile management.
International processing
Infoenon, its infrastructure, and its providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms and safeguards appropriate to the information and destination.
Children
Infoenon is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect non-public Personal Data from children below that age. Public reference information may describe notable people, including minors, when supplied by public sources; correction or safety concerns may be reported for review.
Policy changes and contact
We may update this Policy as the service and law develop. Material changes will be identified in the Info Center and, when appropriate, through an additional notice. Privacy requests and questions may be submitted through Infoenon’s available support and profile-review channels. Formal contact details will be published before public launch.
