A profile status is a symbol that explains where an entity's information comes from and whether an authorized identity controls it. It does not indicate popularity or favor, quality, or truthfulness.
These labels are designed as a quick and easy way for you, the user, to tell what information is directly controlled by the entity. For example, Infoenon fully controls its entity profile, but another entity might not be on the protocol yet and would have a different label.
- Unclaimed reference
- An automatically assembled profile based on attributed public sources such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, the AT Protocol, and other external sources. Being unclaimed means the entity has not claimed this information. The information is not guaranteed to always be correct and is provided by third parties; their terms of service, privacy policies, and other terms apply.
- Live protocol identity
- Depending on your search, you may see this label attached to regular users. It indicates that they are active users, but they have no connected entity and have not been connected to any knowledge entity. If they are connected later, their label status will change automatically, as entity status is determined by domain and other factors.
- Verified protocol identity
- You will commonly see this associated with companies. Any company that verifies its domain through the AT Protocol, for example @name.com, can claim its entity when it has the correct domain associated with that entity. Its status will then change to verified.
- Publisher controlled
- An authorized account manages specific portions of a profile, such as the basic search dashboard for an organization. You will not see this role as often because it is still a testing and Early Access feature that is not yet available to the public.
Claims under review
We have a system in place for claiming entities. For the most part, this should happen automatically when your domain matches the domain associated with the pre-added information. If it does not happen automatically, the Claims page explains which identity signal is missing. Manual evidence review and competing-claim approval are coming soon.
Status changes
Status may or will change when a reference is claimed, an identity is linked or disconnected, evidence changes, or a claim is suspended. Status is not a ranking advantage or a fact-check; it simply verifies and informs you of what you are looking at.
